Service outages are primarily due to power outages and water damage. For power-related outages, we follow the local energy provider in our recovery as we enter damaged areas once they have declared it safe of power hazards. If you are without power, please report this to your local energy provider.
Here are some tips to prepare your business for severe weather:
- Reset your equipment once your power is restored. For cable modems or set-tops, power down and unplug the devices, wait a few seconds and then re-start. For PBXs and other networking equipment, customers should work with their IT staff or vendors to confirm functionality.
- Set up “Call Forward Not Reachable” to automatically forward your phones in the event your business experiences an outage. To set up, log in to MyAccount and select the ‘Call Forwarding’ icon under Voice Tools. Under ‘Call Forwarding Rules’, select ‘Not Reachable’ and enter the number you wish to forward calls to.**
- Remind employees they can access their voicemail remotely if needed by dialing their office number and pressing *5 when the greeting plays followed by their password.**
